6th Grade Camp Experience at Red Oak Camp
The sixth grade students of All Saints of St. John Vianney School participated in environmental education classes at Red Oak Camp in nearby Kirtland, Ohio. The class spent two days at this camp.

Environmental education is an extension of the classroom. Emphasis is placed on learning the subject matter through direct experience and problem solving. Camp staff members teach physical and earth science lessons

The camp also provided the students with a community experience and an opportunity to achieve more independence and self-reliance.

One highlight of the camping experience was the Climbing Wall. This class offered a series of challenges, which required group cooperation and problem solving. Climbing the wall was the greatest challenge of all. It took complete cooperation from the entire class.

This experience helped the students get to know each other in a setting outside the classroom.  It paved the way for an exciting school year.
