“Do more than is expected,” “Remember to check your work and put a check by your name,” “Buy low sell high.” These are some of the phrases heard in my social studies classroom. America needs future leaders who are responsible and love to learn.
Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, I have an older brother and a younger brother. After graduating from Marywood University in Scranton, I moved to Ohio in 1977 when my husband took a job an as engineer with First Energy at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. I taught 4th grade at Assumption School in Geneva for five years. When our daughter Lori was born in 1982, I was fortunate to become a stay-at-home Mom for twelve years. I kept very busy volunteering, substitute teaching, and playing tennis.
I returned to teaching in 1994 when I joined the All Saints family. I love teaching Social Studies, which includes history, geography and economics, and my students know we must remember the past so we do not make the same mistakes in the future. It would be wonderful if I could visit each of the countries we have explored in history, but now we visit our daughter, who lives in Denver, where she is completing her Masters.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking and playing tennis. I want to enable every All Saints junior high student to meet her or his greatest potential and be a Christ-like model in the community.
